Music Studies

Music has always been an important component of any academic study of the humanities. AU does not have a program in Music Studies, but it offers several courses that can be taken as electives in a number of other programs. The music courses offered by the Centre for Humanities are interdisciplinary and usually include a strong historical or cultural studies perspective.

Most courses are crosslisted as both HUMN and MUSI, and collectively they span the sub-fields of classical music and Western popular music. For more details click on the "Courses" button on the left-hand panel.
